Video Games have been a modern day phenomena which has influenced our society today. The influence of video games has bled over into older forms and mediums such as movies and television. When a show called Maniac Mansion was developed based on the classic game. This created a whole new realm of excitement as the possibility to visit a TV adaptation would have been great. The story a mixture of science fiction and horror was a great parody of both genres and provided lots of laughs. For this reason the fact that a TV adaptation was in the works for this particular game was something that most fans would look forward to. With this in mind the TV show was something that was greatly anticipated. However once the show actually began there was a small sense of disappointment as the plot line did not follow the game exactly. Rather than deal with the current time frame and era of the game itself, the creators decided to fast forward the series and move the time frame to the future. In doing this while the references to the game can still be found it was disappointing that it had been changed around.
